Whitaker Platform Session
Chair: Ahmed Z Obeidat, MD, PhD (Medical Collge of Wisconsin)
The Whitaker Platform Session will present research studies by six young investigators. The studies will span basic, translational sciences to quality-of-life assessments in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). First, we will learn about two phase 1 clinical trials exploring the Intradermal and Intranodal Administration of Vitamin D3-Induced Tolerogenic Dendritic Cells. Further, we will learn about novel studies examining the levels and roles of Indole-3-Lactate, a Gut-Microbiota Derived Metabolite in MS. Growing evidence suggest a role for paramagnetic rim lesions in MS as a prognostic biomarker, a study examining an association between intrathecal Interferon-Gamma and paramagnetic rim Lesions. Further, we will get insights from a large study examining structural brain aging among a diverse population of people living with MS. Going back to real-world studies, we will learn about several unmet needs and quality of life in people living with advanced MS and those aging with MS; as well will learn on concerns and fear of falling in people living with MS and ways to mitigate these risks.
