Tackling Health Disparities in MS: A Multidisciplinary Approach

Chair: Mitzi Joi Williams, MD (Joi Life Wellness Group)

The COVID 19 pandemic has increased awareness of health disparities that have long existed in many areas of medicine including Neurology and particularly those affected by MS. As we begin to understand the various factors that contribute to health disparities, it is important to recognize that improving health outcomes requires a multidisciplinary approach. This discussion will focus on practical tips to improve health equity and how we can work together as a healthcare team to improve provider cultural competency, incorporate the patient voice and broaden the education of our next generation of neurologists and neuroimmunologists.
