TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of advanced practice clinicians (NP/PA) and nurses involved in the care of people with MS.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completing this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Apply the most recent McDonald criteria for MS diagnosis when evaluating patients with symptoms suggestive of MS
- Summarize mechanisms of action and latest safety and efficacy data of DMTs for MS
- Discuss the roles of APCs and nurses in a patient-centered approach to therapy selection, monitoring patient response to therapy, and mitigating treatment-related adverse events in MS
- Describe how APCs and nurses are in a unique position to provide equitable MS care to patients from underserved communities and apply strategies to provide individualized, holistic, patient-centered care, including mental health considerations
ACCREDITATION AND CREDIT DESIGNATION
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) and PlatformQ Health Education, LLC. CMSC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
