Exploring Smoldering Multiple Sclerosis and BTK Inhibition

This interactive microlearning module will provide clinicians with the latest research findings relating to smoldering neuroinflammation, the progression of MS disease and disability irrespective of relapse, the existing gaps in current therapeutic approaches, and the evolving science behind the use of BKI inhibitors for the treatment of smoldering MS.
Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for physicians, pharmacists, nursing professionals, PAs, and other members of the health care team involved in the management of patients with MS.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the learners should be able to:
  • Recognize the pathway of smoldering neuroinflammation in context of the spectrum of MS disease
  • Explain disability progression in people with MS who are relapse free or have no evident inflammatory disease activity
  • Evaluate the limitations of MS therapies that have limited CNS penetration and implications for later progression of disease
  • Compare and contrast clinical profiles of emerging BTK inhibitors in the treatment of smoldering MS

METHOD OF PARTICIPATION/HOW TO RECEIVE CREDIT

Successful completion of this activity is achieved by reviewing the CE information, completing the pretest questions, completing the activity, and completing the posttest and evaluation form. A score of at least 75% on the posttest is required to successfully complete this activity. The participant may take the test until successfully passed.
