Personalizing MS Care in an Era of New Therapeutic Options and Updated Clinical Course Descriptions

Activity Description and Learning Objectives

In this case-based activity, experts in the diagnosis and management of multiple sclerosis discuss practical issues related to personalizing care in patients with this disease.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Employ updated MS phenotype descriptions and other patient-and disease-specific factors when personalizing treatment regimens in individuals with relapsing forms of MS
  • Apply recent data on the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of approved disease-modifying therapies into the development of management strategies for patients with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis
  • Develop strategies to communicate key findings related to the mechanisms of action, efficacy, safety, and tolerability of various disease-modifying therapies to individuals with MS in a patient-centric manner in order to facilitate patient knowledge and shared decision making with clinicians

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of neurologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other clinicians involved in the treatment of patients with multiple sclerosis.

Requirements for Successful Completion

In order to receive credit, participants must view the activity and complete the post-test and evaluation form. There are no pre-requisites and there is no fee to participate in this activity or to receive CME/CNE credit. Statements of Credit are awarded upon successful completion of the post-test and evaluation form.
